Petit Bureau are duo out of the Toulouse underground, with Stéphanie Marchesi (bass/synths/vocals) and Laetitia Dutech (drums/vocals).

In 2020, they surprised us with the quirky and delicious LP ‘RES’, followed through shortly afterwards with the heart-stoppingly pretty EP, ‘The Tiny Desk is Weak’, which features, among other things, a drum and bass line to die for. ‘Tiny Desk’ was mastered by Greg Saunier from Deerhoof; here in ‘Bear’s Brain’, their second full-length record, this partnership takes us into heavier, more mathematical territory. The arrangements remain spare and every thump, crash, and harmony is chosen with the kind of care that this group are coming to be known for. The sound is instantly recognisable and it is pure Petit Bureau - if Bear’s Brain were a picture, it would be geometric and detailed, with just a handful of colours that seem startling at first but just happen to go perfectly together. In this they have accomplished something rare - a style and an identity which copy nothing at all, but are uniquely and entirely their own.

En 2020, elles nous ont surpris avec l'excentrique et délicieux LP 'RES', suivi peu après par le magnifique EP 'The Tiny Desk is Weak', qui contient, entre autres, une ligne de batterie et de basse à couper le souffle. 'Tiny Desk' a été masterisé par Greg Saunier de Deerhoof ; avec 'Bear's Brain', leur deuxième album complet, ce partenariat nous emmène sur un terrain plus lourd et plus mathématique. Les arrangements restent sobres et chaque bruit, chaque crash, chaque harmonie est choisi avec le soin qui a fait leur réputation . Le son est immédiatement reconnaissable et c'est du pur Petit Bureau - si Bear's Brain était un tableau, il serait géométrique et détaillé, avec juste une poignée de couleurs qui semblent surprenantes au premier abord mais qui s'accordent parfaitement. elles ont accompli quelque chose de rare : un style et une identité qui ne copient rien du tout, mais qui sont uniquement et entièrement les leurs.
